Dust off that +2 dwarven breastplate or diamond sword and join us at the 3rd Annual LAN Party at ISTE in Denver! This event is a great opportunity to network and share your favorite games, classes, and roles with your peers.

The LAN Party is on Monday, June 27th at 5:30pm in Room CCC109.  This event is open to ISTE members and their family and friends. We will have tables for Minecraft, Dungeons and Dragons, Hearthstone, Interactive Fiction, Old School Games, ARK, Bloxels, and Magic: The Gathering! Feel free to bring your own computing device and socialize with other players!  Come celebrate all games digital, tabletop, cards, and more! This is entirely social but you will see evidence of people successfully mixing business (learning) with pleasure (fun, flow and fiero)!

RSVP here.

P.S. Cosplay or wearing something game related is never required but always encouraged.

For people who would just like to play and chat a bit....

Minecraft

Jim Pike who is normally teaching Math and Science with Minecraft will be here to go in world with you to build and battle creepers! So bring your i-Pad or a laptop, it doesn't matter. Sit down and let's play...show me your world and we'll show you ours.

Dungeons and Dragons

Yes this is the original! Table top, dice rolling, role-play game that inspired all of the other sword and sorcery video games.  Russell will be your Dungeon Master (DM) and play the lead storyteller and referee. Bring your die and character sheets (we'll have extra if you don't have them or know what they are). You and your fellow adventurers will be going on a quest. D & D Basic Rules

Interactive Fiction

Sherry Jones and her students will show you how using Twine can change the way you look at Interactive Fiction and choose your own adventure games.

Kicking it Old School
Lyr Lobo will be bringing it with the retro games we all loved from the 1980's and 1990's.

Ark

Kate Haggerty will take you on an adventure and this rapidly growing game that is part Anthropology and part Minecraft. Grab a dinosaur and let's go! Dinos for everyone!!!!

Bloxels / iBiome Wetlands

Robert Kalman will be showing the innovative way that students are creating their own games with Bloxels.

Jane Ji and a few others from Springbay Studios will be showcasing their iBiome Wetlands App. You can find more information about the iBiome-Wetland from the links below

(They will also be sharing a promo code with those interested, so that you could download the app for free!)
